SD, HD, 3D to MB, GB and TB

I wanted a detail this for anyone wanting to know how much disk space they require when working with different formats of video. Have to say its a tad confusing given the variety of sources I took the data from so please, before you flame me to pieces please do take a look in the references section to see where I extrapolated the data from. I am only talking about raw files here not the space taken by multiple compressed versions and project/edit files. My other assumptions are listed below.

So, to reiterate I have pinched some details from other websites (wiki, Apple, Black Magic, Microsoft) and am happy to stand/sit corrected if any of the data below is incorrect. The information on 3D came from the talented Mr 3D.

SD

HD

3D

No table here but the following information is straight from the horses mouth so to speak…

“60 minutes of RAW data for dual digital projection amounts to 1.5 Terabyte for the imagery alone,  although a DCI-compliant master is smaller in size due to the Jpeg-2000 compression used”.

For more info on 3D Stereoscopic movie making a visit to the3drevolution.com site is a must.

Assumptions

1024 bytes in MB
